Liu Yi Fei Gets Waxed at Madame Tussauds

 

Personally I would have loved to see her Xiao Long Nu wax figure more than anything else just like the character waxes of Nicky Wu as Emperor Kangxi and Sun Li as the legendary Zhen Huan. Instead it’s a modern version in an embellished pink gown. She joins other Asian stars including Jackie Chan, Donnie Yen, Sandra Ng and Kim Hyun Joong at Madame Tussauds, Wuhan.

Playful as she is, Liu Yi Fei kissed her wax self saying that she’s happy to have finally met her twin sister. She also coyly posed with superstars Michael Jackson and Johnny Depp and excitedly took a picture with Einstein.

 

Moon Geun Young and Kim Bum Ends Euro Tour

The newly minted love birds found their way back to their home land holding hands via Incheon International Airport after a month of honeymoon European tour. The two look so much in love. They are even sporting the couple look. Why, their shoes are even matching! How cute is that! I bet they have tons of couple stuff; shirts, eye wear, rings, hoodies, mugs, and what not. They are in what we call the “honeymoon” stage so the real test is yet to come. I sincerely hope they last longer than other celeb couples (Lee Min Ho and Park Min Young) after reality sets in and their work pulls them apart.

They just look so perfect together and I swear you could almost hear birds chirping when they made their way through the airport amidst the buzzing paparazzi. I bet they are thanking their managers for giving them Goddess of Fire Jung Yi, where they met. It was a dud, true. But at least something good came out of it! It’s good that they got a chance to relax a bit and spend time together because we all know that right after, Kim Bum will be working on his projects in the mainland while Geun Young figures out what project to do next. I hope the media would just give them time to work on their relationship in private. But I guess, that’s like asking for the moon.

50th Golden Horse Awards Red Carpet and Winners!

 

Stars from China, Singapore, Hongkong, Malaysia and Taiwan gathered at the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall for the prestigious 50th Golden Horse Awards this weekend. It was a who’s who of the greater China region as A-listers attend the Chinese version of the Oscars. The event is even more sentimental because it brought together previous winners over the years who normally don’t come together in one occasion. It was specially nice to see Brigitte Lin and Maggie Cheung, two of the best actresses,in one event again. Singaporean film Ilo.Ilo won top honors as it bagged the Best Feature Film while The Grandmaster took home several major awards.

Fashion-wise, I like Maggie’s royal blue Elie Saab lace gown and Sonia Sui’s daring, elegant black gown. Shu Qi’s Valentino dress is sort of out of place and her hair is just plain wrong. The french braid can be both casual and dramatic if done the right way but hers was just messy. Yao yao’s mini dress is age appropriate but she should have gone for pumps instead of those hideous platforms. The men were almost identical in their black suits.

What is it with celebrities these days? It seems like they are becoming more and more transparent with their personal lives. Before, it was almost close to impossible to spot celebs dating and when the public catch on, everything’s over. But maybe it is due to something else altogether, the thing which everyone has called instagram or weibo or twitter. Blame it on social media. Even celebs have become shutter happy clicking away and posting even very private moments on their personal accounts.

Just last week, Nicky Wu and Liu Shi Shi’s budding romance came to light straight from the horses’ mouth via weibo. This week a reel couple is in the center of the rumor mill once again. The couple in question is none other than “Just You 就是要你愛上我” Qi Yi and Liang Liang better known as Aaron Yan and Puff Kuo. I suppose the two got so close during filming for the drama which ran for close to five months! Who wouldn’t get close in that condition? According to eye witnesses Aaron was spotted in Puff’s neighborhood and the two were chatting casually but when they noticed people snapping at them, Puff got into the car. But thanks to technology we could still see some paparazzi shots with them in the car.

Incidentally, today is Aaron’s 27th birthday and two posted a picture of them having dinner. They also exchaged what fans like to call “coded” messages with each other. Personally, I don’t want to read too much into this. After all, friends DO hang out and act sweet especially when you’re comfortable with one another.

Park Han Byul Chops Long Locks for Role in Upcoming Drama “Well Raised Daughter,Hana”

 

Arguably better known as singer Se7en’s girlfriend for over a decade. Park Han Byul recently made headlines when news of their break up leaked but the two kept mum about it. Now, she’s back in the headlines not because she’s starring in a drama for the first time but more for cutting a whole chunk of her beautiful, long locks. When I first saw the stills myself, I had to do a double take. I thought I was looking at an uber cute man-boy or at a member of some of the oh-so-many idol groups that I can’t even recall their names. So I checked and surprisingly it is indeed Park Han Byul masquerading as a high school boy for the upcoming SBS Monday to Friday drama called Well Raised Daughter, Hana잘 키운 딸 하나. What I can say? Wow! She looks young for a 28 year old lady.

Park Han Byul will portray a dual role in the drama namely, Jang Geun Seong and Jang Hana. Hana, the daugher of the Jang family who owns a 200 year old soy sauce empire. She had to pretend as the family’s son Jang Geun Seong to protect the family business from bad-meaning people and business rivals. To keep the secret and make everyone believe the bogus identity, she goes to a school as a boy. The drama is set to premiere on December 2nd replacing Ugly Alert.

“I Can Hear Your Voice” Won Major Awards @2013 APAN Star Awards

 

The 2013 APAN Star Awards was held on November 16th at Jeongsimhwa Cultural Center in Daejeon City hence its known locally as Dejeon Drama Festival.Lee Hwi Jae and Soyeon of T-Ara were the masters of ceremonies. The very successful ghost story romantic drama, “I Can Hear Your Voice” took home four major awards including Best Couple for its leads Lee Bo Young and Lee Jong Suk.

This is another one of the many awarding ceremonies in South Korea. Don’t they just love to hand out awards? Most of the major cities have their own drama or movie festivals. It’s probably they way of promoting tourism so can’t really blame them besides most of the people love to see some celebrities in their own turf. Not to mention each of the major broadcast networks have their own drama awards to boot. When you look at the list though, it’s a bit confusing. It seems like they want to accommodate everyone so they give out awards in “hierarchy” as I’d like to call it. So don’t get confused to see so many best actors and actresses. So, what’s the difference between a best actor from an excellent actor to an acting award for an actor? Confusing eh?! Beats me!

BigBang’s TOP Voted as “Sexiest Male Musician of 2013”

 

Fuse TV recently unveiled its sexiest male and female musician. 15 ladies and 15 gents battled it out but only two were chosen. So who’s hotness is beyond sizzling? BigBang’s very own Choi Seung Hyun more popularly known for his single moniker “TOP” is king of hotness! I couldn’t agree more. His eyes alone could melt any girl’s panties off. He got the most number of votes for the male category with 1.5 million while female counterpart went to none other than Britney Spears (yeah Work it B*tch!) with almost the same numbers. Other famous celebs in the sexiest list are: Justin Beiber, Lady Gaga, Selena Gomez, Justin Timberlake and even Jay-Z.

Speaking of TOP, his movie Alumni is doing pretty well at the South Korean box office. Barely 10 days after its release date, the movie is about to break the 1 million mark for attendance as of this writing. And because of the his group’s (BigBang) popularity in the region, a special screening will also be held in Taiwan on December 20th. Another hooray for my Tabi!

Nicky Wu, Liu Shi Shi Admits Romance

At around 2:00 today (13th November) Nicky Wu (Wu Qilong) posted this message on his weibo account:

 

“Thank you for your concern and blessing, we cherish this hard-won feelings, we sincerely hope that we can have our private life, give us some free time and space, thank you for understanding.”

A while later Liu Shi shi responded with this post “Thank you for your concern, I believe that God will give the best arrangement. “

 

It can’t be any clearer an admission than that! Just yesterday I posted about Shi shi and Hu Ge holding hands at the BQ event (see related post here) but after they walked the red carpet, Shi shi actually sat next to Nicky during the whole ceremony. As early as August this year, there have been many claims of “sightings” but the two never adressed those rumors. Earlier this month many media outlets reported that the two spent 8 hours together in one place thereby igniting more romance rumors. With their admission, fans responded with mixed reactions. But most were happy and congratulatory. It was said that weibo recorded more than 300,000 responses to the post within minutes. Many of the couples friends congratulated and sent happy messages to the two including Little Tigers bandmate Alec Su, co-stars Yuan Hong, Jiang Jin Fu, Ye Zu Xin, Guo Zhen Ni and even Nicky’s ex-wife Ma Yashu.

Nicky Wu and Liu Shi shi have worked together in the mega-popular Scarlet/Bu Bu Jing Xin步步惊心. Due to its massive success, which is also responsible for reigniting Si Ye’s (Nicky) career, a sequel Bu Bu Jing Qing 步步惊情 was made and is now about to be aired (thanks to the fandom’s incessant requests). They are also working on a third project together “Incisive Great Teacher 犀利仁师 ” According to many onlookers, the couple looked like well, a couple!

But some people are also doubting the veracity of the post because of its timing. They think that it’s an advertising ploy for the upcoming Bu Bu Jing Qing release. Oh please give me a break! I don’t think these two would resort to such cheap advertising gimmickry. So, let’s just all cry happy tears (like me!) and wish them happiness.

FNC Entertainment Launches Reality Series “Cheongdam-dong 111” on tvN

Cheongdam-dong is an area in Gangnam, Seoul where the affluent lives.It is where the hip, the young and the rich flock. It is also home to many entertainment companies like SM Entertainment, JYP Entertainment, Cube Entertainment, and most recently FNC Entertainment.

This month, in partnerhsip with tvN, FNC Entertainment will launch a new reality-based TV show called Cheongdam-dong 111. It will give audience a front seat access to its label artists Lee Dong Gun, FTIsland, CNBlue, Juniel, AOA and other idol groups, celebrities and trainees. The people who usually stay behind the scenes will go front and center which includes, top management bosses, department heads, personal trainers etc.

The program promises to shed light on how the company operates, how the staff works and how a star is made. It will be made up of 8 episodes with different focal point per story. It is said that FTIsland member Lee Hongki and FNC’s entertainment boss have a “Tom and Jerry” kind of relationship which will be interesting to see. I am also quite enticed to check out the rivalry between Lee Dong Gun and Jung Yong Hwa, which is already playing out well in KBS2 TV’s Marry Him If You Dare, in a real-life situation (I know it’s not really “real” but who cares!). The first episode will air on November 21st.

 

The Pursuit of Happiness Episode 4 – Recap

Is it wrong to want to be happy? Is it wrong to try to pursue your own happiness if it means coming between two people already in a relationship? If it’s a terrible thing to do, then is it better to just accept and move one?

 

EPISODE 4

Ji An Lei started seeing other guys however unwillingly with the help of her girlfriends. But since she’s not willing to let go of He Wei Ting Tiffany reminded her to go with her plan to steal him back with Huang Yi Kang’s help. Her friends kept encouraging her.Meanwhile, HWT pick Hai Lun up from work, showing off his new ride.He heard from HL that JAL was sick and didn’t come to work for 2 days. So he went to JAL’s place to see how she was.He leaned in so (ridiculously) close to feel her temperature. She then admitted that she was not sick but just wanted to take time off. He then asked her to go for a spin on his new car. she climbed into the passenger seat and smelled HL’s scent. She thought that she had obviously marked her territory and she had no place in that car so she told him that she was tired. JAL found HYK’s recording and listened to it and was grossed out. She thought that he was involved in some adult film. HYK later explained that he was doing a research for a spa.

Lei Lei asked Yi Kang if he would like to work at her company. But he was a bit confused knowing that she wanted to resign. she then told him that she needs his help because she’s not brave enough alone. The following day she went over to HYK’s place to ask him to help her snatch HWT back, in return he’ll have work and a place to stay. But instead he turned her down and questioned her moral standards.she then ranted about everything in his “future” apartment and hurried out fuming mad. That night she went to tango class with her girlfriends. Both her friends have blissful relationships save for her. Both are having “date nights” while she’s trying to convince herself that she’ll be okay alone. Eventually they decided to forego their plans and decided to have a ladies night instead.

She found her necklace (the one which she threw away) on the table where HYK left them. she lashed out at him telling him that he was so nosy and weak. He told her that he was leaving that weekend and won’t have anything to do with her and her despicable underhand method of breaking up a happy relationship.LL asked wt to be the speaker for their product launch as a travel expert. She convinced him. HL and HYK met and told him that she was using hs idea fir her project and asked him to reconsider her offer. LL confronted HYK about not being brave enough to face her. She told him that he was a hypocrite since they obviously want the same thing. HYK then told her that they different, while she wants WT, the only thing he wants is HL’s happiness. Meanwhile, the couple met for and talked the deals they made with HYK and LL. Eventually WT admitted why there’s a lot between LL and him, that she was his ex-girlfriend. She admitted that she already knew from the first time they met.

Yi Kang came to work the following day.But because of what had happened the previous day, he and LL avoided each other at work and at home as well. He went to check the products at the store and she dropped by to check on them too being a responsible supervisor that she is. He apologized for the hurtful things he said but she didnt’t want to talk about anything personal. She hurried downstairs to see the items but unfortunately she fell. He took her to the hospital and informed everyone about it. HL and HWT came rushing to the hospital to check on her and Simon came moments later. They all told her to stay home and rest and not worry about the event. So JAL stayed home by herself. Suddenly hungery but helpless, she decided to sleep instead. Good thing that HYK brought food for her and helped her to eat. They started talking and cleared tha air between them. He said that she will drive for her check up the following day.
