Moon Geun Young and Kim Bum Ends Euro Tour

Photo/TV Daily

The newly minted love birds found their way back to their home land holding hands via Incheon International Airport after a month of honeymoon European tour. The two look so much in love. They are even sporting the couple look. Why, their shoes are even matching! How cute is that! I bet they have tons of couple stuff; shirts, eye wear, rings, hoodies, mugs, and what not. They are in what we call the “honeymoon” stage so the real test is yet to come. I sincerely hope they last longer than other celeb couples (Lee Min Ho and Park Min Young) after reality sets in and their work pulls them apart.

They just look so perfect together and I swear you could almost hear birds chirping when they made their way through the airport amidst the buzzing paparazzi. I bet they are thanking their managers for giving them Goddess of Fire Jung Yi, where they met. It was a dud, true. But at least something good came out of it! It’s good that they got a chance to relax a bit and spend time together because we all know that right after, Kim Bum will be working on his projects in the mainland while Geun Young figures out what project to do next. I hope the media would just give them time to work on their relationship in private. But I guess, that’s like asking for the moon.

“Pretty Man” Struggles On It’s First Week while “The Heirs” Soars Higher

Photo/Nate

While “The Heirs” is enjoying the air up there by its lonesome registering 22.1% (Thursday) it’s highest rating since its debut, the two other rival dramas Bel Ami/Pretty Man and Medical Top Team are wallowing down below with a measly 6.1% and 6% respectively.

It is interesting to note that the spot vacated by Secret which ended it’s run with 20.6% is struggling so much against it’s direct competition. But I think this is to be expected. Pretty Man/Bel Ami‘s core audience are the young adults which are also the core audience of The Heirs. The latter has got the upper hand since it’s already halfway through so most viewers are unlikely to switch sides at this point. Maybe it did manage to snatch a handful of them (or not). Now where did the other 14% go? The question is, who are the 14%? They are the 30-40s and the ahjummas who loved the angsty, convulated melodrama that was Secret. You don’t really expect them to watch a drama centered on a flower boy? How could relate to that? With all these hurdles to overcome, Bel Ami has a steep path ahead. But all is not lost, after all it has just begun and although the story is quite cliche and we have seen Jang Geun Suk playing a narcissistic role (You’re Beautiful), the tandem is fresh and fairly adorable. Maybe it might just work. It is working pretty well for Lee Min Ho (Kim Tan), who after a good many years is wearing a high uniform again just like in Boys Over Flowers (Gu Jun Pyo). It’s still early in the game so Bel Ami still has a fighting chance or it might just go Medical Top Team‘s route and stay below.

Kim Tan and Young Do Duke it Out, The Heirs Style!

I have nothing to say on this matter. Or maybe just a little. How pretty Cha Eun Sang must be feeling when two of the hottest boys in your ultra elite school is duking it out just for you. Or are they really fighting over her and not merely satisfying their bruised egos the size of a football field? This bromance is going to the next level and I’m liking it. Evil laugh.

Let the pictures do the talking.

Lee Min Ho and Park Shin Hye Shares First Kiss

SBS shared some treats today well ahead of the holloween celebration. It shows Kim Tan (Lee Min Ho) and Cha Eun Sang (Park Shin Hye)  sharing their first kiss at the school’s rooftop. Did I just hear a collective yell? ‘Must be my imagination. It looks like Kim Tan is moving in for the kill! Way to go boy, who looks hot in a high school uniform. Until now Kim Tan has only watched Eun Sang from afar not revealing how he truly feels. They have been constantly bickering and he’s been acting like a jealous boyfriend. But with these stills, it only means that things are about to change as Kim Tan confesses his true feelings. How would she react?

On the downside, I just had to say this. We got to admit that he looks kinda old for a high school student and so with the others. I still think it would have been better in a university setting though. But then again, if the vampires at Mystic Falls can pull it off, then I say why the heck can’t they? On with Boys Over Flowers..err…I meant The Heirs.

Do enjoy!

“The Heirs” Drops Squeal-Worthy Stills of Lee Min Ho and Park Shin Hye in School Uniform

For those who’s familiar with my blog, you may have noticed that I haven’t been writing about this drama even though I have waited for this like “forever”.  The reason is simple. Yes, I have been watching it religiously and is updated about everything and anything that concerns it but…I don’t want to write a recap nor a review about it. Honestly, when it comes to this drama I feel that my mind is somewhat bogged. I don’t know why. But I’m with you in squealing, spazzing, waiting, and all other imaginable teen-related driven emotion, though I’m no teen.

Anyway, SBS is playing Santa Claus these days  and dropped these set stills from the Mapo-dong area in Seoul where the shoot took place. An “idol-looking” Lee Min Ho (Kim Tan) decided to drop by the high school to pick up Park Shin Hye (Cha Eun Sang). And here I thought he just wanted to show off his fab ride and runway outfit. Aww!

The Heirs, Medical Top Team Pilot Episode — Who’s Number 1?

After months of preparation, numerous advertisements, hordes of BTS captures, stills and teasers, finally The Heirs (SBS) and Medical Top Team (MBC) aired its initial telecast. But the question on everyone’s mind is undoubtedly –which drama came out on top? None of the two! Secret claimed the top spot for the night with 12.4% which was previously held by So Ji Sub-Gong Hyo Jin’s The Master’s Sun which ended it’s successful run with 23.6% on it’s final episode. Meanwhile The Heirs placed second with 11.6% and Medical Top Team got 8.5% on third.
Medical Top Team–Intense. Immersive. But it kind of reminds you of last year’s Goldentime in how the camera angles work (which reminds me that even the poster were almost the same). Kwon Sang Woo and Jung Ryeo Won are solid actors. You’ll probably love the battle among the medical geniuses but I’m pretty sure that most would stay for the quiet and romantic moments. I say… continue watching.

The Heirs –The characters were hip, vibrant, youthful and doesn’t hurt the eyes. In other other words, it looks like a glossy poster art.I gotta admit, Lee Min Ho is hot. But if you’re not into the Cinderella, happily-ever-after kind of story then this is not for you. But what’s interesting to find out is what will happen once the exiled Kim Tan goes back to Korea. When the scheming, backstabbing and stealing starts. It is worth staying tuned for.

The second episodes for both dramas air tonight.

The Heirs, Medical Top Team: Face Off Begins This Week!

There hasn’t been a day quite like this in recent months were two highly anticipated dramas are set to go head-to-head and the face off begins on Wednesday. A pilot is very important for all TV stations for it’s were a fanbase can be established and that is why networks pour in a lot of their resources to hype a show. But that does not guarantee ratings success.Sometimes the pilot is so good but due to poor storyline, viewers lose interest. On the other hand, it can have a decent enough premiere and then go higher and higher because of strong character portrayals, OTP’s chemistry and a solid story. Everything must be in sync. Unfortunately, we can watch only one at a time but thank God for technology we can watch them all simultaneously. Yet we must choose a “first”. Which is it gonna be?

On the left corner– The Heirs (SBS) which I consider an “idol” drama frontlined by today’s hottest and should I say best looking Korean stars, Lee Min Ho, Park Shin Hye, Kim Woo Bin, Kang Min Hyuk, Krystal, Kim Ji Won, Choi Jin Hyuk. It is about the lives of the rich and famous (think Boys Over Flowers) and the poor girl who gets caught in the mix. Mainly a drama for the youth but we all know that they are a force to reckon with and I know that this one’s got their vote.

On the right corner– Medical Top Team (MBC) which is a hospital drama about a group of experts in their respective field coming together to form the best medical team in the country. A combined cast of seasoned actors and newbies including Kwon Sang Woo, Jung Ryeo Won, Joo Ji Hoon, Oh Yeon Seo, MinHo, Kim Ki Bang, Kim Young Ae et.al. If you are not satisfied with Good Doctor and thirsts for another medical drama, then this one is for you. If you have seen the movie “Pain/통증” and still want some Kwon Sang Woo and Jung Ryeo Won, then you can have your fill in this drama for sure.

As for me, I’ll be watching The Heirs. Why? Well, because I want to see LMH and PSH macking that is! Seriously, I have been watching a whole bunch of wuxia series and would like to have a lighter, feel good drama for a change.

I wonder which drama will come out the victor? That, we’ll have to wait and see.

P.S.

I actually thought today is Wednesday and just now realized that it’s Monday. I was actually waiting for the dramas to begin but instead it’s another show. Talk about excited! Oops, blooper!

Kim Woo Bin Hops on a Motorcycle for “The Heirs”

With only a few days left before its pilot, Those Who Want To Wear the Crown, Withstand the Weight, The Heirs/ 왕관을 쓰려는자, 그무게를 견뎌라-상속자들 stars are all busy filming. Lee Min Ho is seating-in in some American University trying his best to learn some business sense or at least that’s what his character in the drama, Kim Tan is trying to do, Park Shin Hye juggles her homework with her day job and daydreams by the seashore looking pretty. Kim Woo Bin on the other hand, is the “king of cool”, sitting on a motorbike looking like a modern-day knight in shining armor. The actor along with co-star Kim Ji Won were snapped by they’re Chinese fans recently filming some scenes for the drama.

It is interesting to note that before School 2013, both Kim Woo Bin and Lee Jong Suk were just “relatively” popular but after their “bromance” on screen which made many ajumas go ga-ga. Now, even their personal lives are under scrutiny. Recently, Kim Woo Bin admitted his relationship with model-girlfriend. I’m pretty sure a lot of hearts were broken and ajumas are cursing the very existance of that pretty girl. I’m not one of them I swear! I think he’s aight. That is all.

The anticipation for this drama is high specially with the younger demographics, undoubtedly because of the good looking cast. Although that very same theory didn’t quite work for To The Beautiful You. I will surely check it out on October 9 if only to see how it matches up to Boys Over Flowers. I will reserve my opinion till then.
